Nonie’s Place offers a variety of grief counseling programs that are designed to help children and their families cope with their feelings during times of loss. According to the Children’s Bereavement Estimation Model, 1 in 12 children in the US will experience the death of a parent or sibling by the time they turn 18.

Nonie’s Place extends its impact beyond counseling through strong community outreach efforts that equip others to support grieving children. We provide grief education materials and guidance to schools, law enforcement partners, healthcare providers, and community organizations, helping adults recognize and respond to the needs of children experiencing loss.
Through community events, trainings, and partnerships, we raise awareness, reduce stigma around grief, and ensure families across Northwest Florida are connected to the support and resources they need.
Camp Connect is a daylong children’s grief camp for children ages 5 – 18 who have suffered a loss or those who have a terminally ill loved one. Camp Connect gives children the opportunity to explore and express their emotions, equips them with a better understanding of their grief, and offers ways of coping with their feelings. All of this, while making connections with others who have experienced loss.
Grief Connect Kits are specifically developed to aid children and parents who are anticipating the loss of a loved one. These boxes are filled with hand-selected items designed to assist with the anticipatory grief process.
